I am obsessing over patterns and stripes this spring. The other day, while I was taking a de-stress walk around my neighborhood mall, (because let’s be honest, we all do it) I found myself in Forever 21. A store I used to avoid because of this pre-conceived notion I had about it. However, when I stopped in, I was shocked with how many cute pieces I found! This dress jumped out at me because the detailing made it look more expensive and it looked effortless to me.
My goal for this year is to mix both the expensive with the inexpensive, so my closet can be realistic. As a fashion and trend lover, I could easily spend everything I own on clothes just because I love the act of shopping and walking around malls. I think I have my mom to blame for this (shout out to my mom- heyyyy) because it is so relaxing to walk around a mall. But as a 23-year-old, supporting herself in Los Angeles, that is just not realistic; and I bet many of you can relate. My goal for this blog is to share how to stay on trend without breaking your bank, how to re-use pieces in your closet and twist them to fit what’s in fashion now. Also, to know when to splurge and when to not.
What I have on:
I am wearing the plunging striped dress from Forever 21. This dress almost fit perfectly except, due to my small chested problems, I had to do a little make-shift tailoring with a safety pin so it wasn’t as low cut. As a dancer, you get pretty creative with what you can do with a safety-pin *laughs at self. * I love red, so I paired this dress with the Free People Cecile ankle boot in terracotta suede. Fun fact: I actually got these boots over a year ago before the red boot trend even started! It pays off to buy before the trend hits because you usually can get it for a better price. These boots are the most comfortable shoes I own. I have them in two other colors and they all still look like new, even though they are some of my go-to’s. Lastly, I paired this outfit with this fun, red leather backpack. I picked this bag up from Brandy Melville while I was shopping in Santa Monica not too long ago. I love it because it’s a fun way to add color to any outfit. They aren’t selling this style anymore but they do have a similar one with a gold buckle
Excited to start this blogging journey with all you! Comment below with what you would like to see me write about!
