There is nothing better than a dress. It is the easiest thing to throw on while still looking put together. My wardrobe consists of way too many dresses, but I just can’t get enough. Lately I’ve been all about the bold patterns and colors. Life is so fun, so why not dress like it? For a while I tried to dress like the ‘cool girl’ with more neutral colors and more ‘grown up’ style, but really, what does that even mean. Your 20’s are meant for experimenting and being loud and wild (at least in your clothing) so I think we should all get a little wilder!
These five spring dresses are some of my favorites. They all have different shapes to them and all tell a little different story! The price points are varied as well, so you can mix your wardrobe up to have some nicer brands along with trendier brands.
First up is one of my favorite dresses, that I actually wore on Easter! This cute striped dress with bold red flowers is from Madewell, and I am obsessed. I wear it all of the time because it actually feels comfier than my Lululemon leggings (and I didn’t even think that was possible). The silhouette is so simple and flattering. With my body type I usually like to have some sort of a waist line because that is the most flattering on my body. I paired this with these super cute white boots that were a steal from Forever21. Unfortunately, they sold out super-fast, but I am linking other white booties that are just as cute! Also, can we talk about how cute this location is! I drive past this heart almost every day. Sometimes it’s the little things in your city that mean the most. One of my favorite parts about Los Angeles is the art that is everywhere.
Next up, is this bright baby-doll dress from the WhoWhatWear Collection from Target. I don’t know about you guys, but I think Target is really killing the game right now with the new brands they’ve released. WhoWhatWear is so fun! They love playing around with colors and trends, while still making it affordable. I sent this dress to my sister, Amanda, actually telling her it would look so cute on her, and then I was like wait a second, I kind of like it too. So sorry Amanda but you can borrow it when I come home. Usually I don’t buy dresses without some sort of waist line, but I was attracted to the bold colors and pattern. How cute would these be for a Sunday morning brunch?! This dress is a steal costing only $32.99. The arm holes on this dress are a little small so I would size up from what you would normally get!
I have a slight obsession with Madewell. I just love the simplicity and quality mixed with the detail and playfulness of their designs. This denim dress is something every girl needs in their closet. Besides being so comfortable, it’s also so cute! You can dress this up with little heels or dress it down with sneakers or sandals. I paired it with my favorite heeled sandals from Madewell (obviously). Both of these items are on sale right now, so I would snag them while you still can! The dress ran a little big, so I ended up sizing down because denim always stretches a little.
I love designer clothes because of the fun patterns and fabrics they use. However, it’s hard to spend over $300 on a dress with no event to go to. Thankfully we have Forever21 for our needs. I found this white ruffle dress there one day and I just had to buy it. I had been obsessing over this For Love & Lemons dress for about a year, but I had no reason to justify spending that much on a dress. Forever21 created a dress that is pretty similar, so I had to buy it!! For $32.90 this is also a steal! I paired this flirty dress with my tan high top converse to dress it down a little bit.
Last up, is probably my favorite dress right now. This fun and flowy dress is from Zara (Click picture to shop). This one is a little bit pricier than the other dresses but still pretty reasonable in my opinion. There is something so freeing and comfortable about just throwing on a long maxi dress and looking super put together, while feeling like you are wearing pajamas. Love how the patterns are mixed on this dress and how bright and playful the colors are. I paired this dress with my platform metallic vans. My sister bought these for me for Christmas and I wear them probably a little too much. Unfortunately, these are almost sold out, so I linked a few other Vans styles that are also metallic and super cute!
I challenge you guys to play around with your style this spring and to pick the bold colors before your go-to basics and neutrals. I’m going to link some more spring dresses that I’ve been eyeing up this month for you guys to shop as well! Happy Spring!
